    a rant about IPB

    Post by Heat

I have recently been trying out a new forum using IPB software (the software BZP uses), and I'm just shocked by all the functions the admin CP has.

    (non-existent) GOD BLESS YOU IPB!

(non-existent) GOD BLESS YOU IPB AND YOUR MASSIVELY ANNOYING SYSTEM OF "FORUM PERMISSION MASKS", WHICH MAKES IT SO MUCH MORE DIFFICULT TO RESTRICT ACCESS TO SUBFORUMS, BECAUSE IT'S NOT LIKE ANYONE MIGHT EVER WANT TO DO THAT, RIGHT?!

Seriously, what is the problem with just making usergroups and assigning rights to them? Why do they all have to be based on other usergroups? I'm sure there's some sort of reason behind it but so far it escapes me.
